Sirileo Miss was once again successful in the Group three, Ladies Day Vase at Caulfield yesterday. She won the race in 2021 but due to covid restrictions the owners weren’t all able to be on course to celebrate. 12 months later, the roars from the stands were of those who missed out on cheering their mare home last year to victory this year.

As the rain poured down throughout the day, the confidence grew in the team that Sirileo Miss could go back to back in the group three. From the work we have seen of her at home and her trials on the softer tracks, we were quietly confident given the right run, Sirileo Miss could get the job done. She was given a great ride from Ben Melham out in front. Sirileo Miss looked to relax well for her and was travelling comfortably to the corner. At the 400m the field looked like they were going to swamp her. She is so tenacious and tough, she rallied again to win by 1.25 lengths.

For what the rest of the spring carnival looks like is yet to be determined but we will enjoy the celebrations of yesterday as we decided her next target…could it be the Group One Empire Rose??

Congratulations to the winning connections.
