Promising 4yo mare Wishlor Lass made it three wins from as many starts with an impressive victory at Sandown.
Making her first trek away from Warrnambool, where her previous two starts she had won, it was a big day out for Wishlor Lass. Travelling over three hours from home, standing for two hours prior to her race and down in the city, the mare took it all her in her stride. Walking around the mounting yard she had her ears pricked and never turned a hair – a true professional.
When the gates opened she was a half length slow away, she mustered quickly under her own steam without Josh having to ask her to do so and travelled comfortably outside the leader.
She was travelling like the winner from a long way out, when asked for an effort she sustained a break on the rest of the field to win by 1.5 lengths. Josh’s comments post race were even more encouraging saying that she wasn’t at her top when she let down, she was waiting for the other horses, so there is still improvement to come.
Wishlor Lass handled the step up in grade today and we look forward to seeing where she steps out next.
Congratulations to the winning connections.
