Developing mare Wishlor Lass took our the group three ladies day vase at Caulfield on Saturday. A race Wilde Racing has won the past two years with Sirileo Miss it was great to be able to win the race for the third year with this promising mare.
Facing her toughest task to date, Wishlor Lass didn’t disappoint punters who sent her out a short priced favourtie. She loped along out in front at a lovely tempo under Damian Lane. At the 200m mark, Barbies Fox loomed to her outside and looked as though she would sail straight pass Wishlor Lass. Our mare was tough and as soon as she seen the other horse, she kicked back to win by a neck on the post. Wishlor Lass is still green and has plenty of upside. With Saturday being her 7th start and win number five, the more racing she does the better she is going to get. Her only two defeats have come when she had absolutely no luck throughout the run.
The win is a really valuable one for Wishlor Lass. We’ve got the mare and a lot of the progeny so it is an important win all round.
Congratulations to her large group of winning connections – many of who were on track to celebrate the victory.
