Making her debut at Donald on Sunday, Precious Charm was too good for her rivals as she went on to win by 1.25 lengths.
The 3yo daughter of Per Incanto had trialled and galloped well heading into Sunday leading to Linda Meech to take the ride. Linda had been on the filly in her last couple of pieces of work and she was very keen to follow her to the races. Physically she is coping with the rigours of training well but we thought her mental immaturity may have brought her undone on Sunday.
Precious Charm handled the occasion like an old gelding, and she couldn’t have been more professional on race day.
Purchased from the 2021 Karaka Yearling Sales for $80,000 the filly always looked as though she was going to take time to fully mature.
She has rewarded her owners with their patience and hopefully the maiden win is a sign of better things to come for Precious Charm.
Congratulations to the winning connections.
