Racing was at Hamilton on Friday where Wilde Racing saddled up seven runners for the afternoon. It warm conditions, it was a great day for the team who brought home a winning treble.
Autumn Colours (pictured) having her first start for the stable was successful with Tahlia Hope on board. She needed every bit of the long Hamilton straight to wind up and hit her straps. She was able to get her head down right on the line to secure a last stride victory. Previously trained by Anthony Freedman in NSW, Autumn Colours has adapted to her new surrounds well and looks to be a stayer in the making. Raced by long time clients Mike and Brodie Becker, it was great to be able to get the win for their future breeding aspirations.
Actaeon returned to the track where he broke his maiden status and again he didn’t disappoint the ownership group with another great win at Hamilton. He can make a habit of being tardy away from the barriers but Tahlia was able to get him out and race in a forward position which was the difference in the end. He sat outside the leader and on straightening you could see Tahlia had a lap full of horse. When she asked for the effort, Actaeon quickened nicely and went on to win by 2.25 lengths. He is taking time to learn his racing manners, he still wants to do a few things wrong but he is building a nice record whilst learning his craft.
Sevillana brought up the final leg of the winning treble with a win in the final race of the day. She was given a great ride by apprentice Dakotah Keane and continued her consistent preparation.
A mare that the breeder and owners have had to be patient with they are certainly starting to reap the rewards now. Sevillana needed time to mature physically and the owners thankfully gave that to her. From her nine career starts Sevillana hasn’t finished any further back than 5th and she has been in the placings on seven occasions. She is a great money spinner for her connections.
Congratulations to all our winning owners at Hamilton on Friday.
