Racing saw the stable head to our home track on Monday with five runners. Dashing Duchess (pictured) and Gimme Gold brought home a winning double.

Dashing Duchess followed up her great debut run with an impressive victory to break her maiden status. The quality of the field may not have been strong but it was the way she won which was impressive.
She jumped much better than she did on debut and in turn was able to settle closer to the speed. Dashing Duchess settled lovely under Tahlia Hope and always travelled well throughout.
When asked to quicken, quicken she did and Dashing Duchess went on to win by 5.75 lengths. The now 4yo has taken plenty of time but her owners have been patient and hopefully they will continue to be rewarded. Raced in similar interests to Tralee Rose, the similarity between the two horses are uncanny. Both purchased from NZ, took plenty of time and broke their maiden status at Warrnambool.
Although Dashing Duchess has a long way to go to reach the heights of Tralee Rose, she certainly couldn’t have been more impressive on Monday.

Gimme Gold was the second winner for the afternoon. It was great to have owner/breeder Marg Lucas track side for the victory. A gelding by Fiorente, he too has taken time to get to the races.
After jumping slowly away, it was good to see Gimme Gold race back in the field and not be up making the pace. Ridden with some cover, he showed a great turn of foot to win softly on the line.
He was green in the straight and still has plenty to learn, so to get his second win at only his fourth start, he looks to have the makings of a nice horse going forward.

Congratulations to both groups of winning connections.
