Bellakai (pictured) and Shes Ternacious were are only two runners at Terang on Thursday and both were victorious.
Bellakai lost her way earlier in the preparation but thanks to the patience of her ownership group we were able to get the best out of her at Terang. She has always shown promise as a handy stayer. The step up in trip, a drier surface and reuniting with Linda Meech all proved to be winning factors for the lightly raced 5yo. Being by Fiorente she was always going to need time to mature and develop and that is exactly what she has done. There is plenty of upside to Bellakai and with that win on the board hopefully we have a trouble free preparation going forward and we can see her progress through the grades.
The well named Shes Ternacious was exactly that sticking her head out for a gritty win. A mare that continues to fly under the radar found herself back in the winners stall on Thursday. That was win number four from 17 career starts and she has placed on five other occasions. For a bargain buy of $19,000 she has now won $93,000 in prize-money for her connections. She is an owners dream with her consistency and being able to pay her way, while giving her ownership plenty of enjoyment on the race track.
Congratulations to both groups of winning connections.
