The Garden returned to the winners stall on Wednesday at Sandown, bringing up win number five from as little as eleven starts.
After beginning slow from the gates, and everyone taking a sit and looking at each other, Ben Melham made the move to send The Garden to the lead.
He didn’t slacken the tempo at any point, rolling along at a good solid gallop, in the end running a class record. Knowing there was still improvement to come, Ben held onto The Garden for as long as her could, timing it all to perfection as he only had 0.2 lengths to spare over the fast finishing Field Of Roses.
The Garden is giving his ownership group great fun, as doesn’t run a bad race. Now that he is climbing up in the ratings, we might be able to plan bigger targets ahead for the lightly raced son of Shooting to win.
Congratulations to the winning connections.
