The long trek to Swan Hill was well worth the effort with Power of Song (pictured) and Booker Tee breaking their maiden status.
It was a great day out for the team, taking four runners for a double, a second and a third.
Power of Song careered away to win by an easy six lengths under the guidance of Joe Bowditch. From a sticky barrier, there was a strong tempo which allowed the filly to slot into a lovely position through the run.
It is a long straight at Swan Hill but Power of Song always looked to be travelling well. The further they went the stronger she got. Stepping out in trip certainly doesn’t look to be any issues for her.
Purchased from the Inglis Premier sale in 2020, the filly has taken some time to learn her craft. After two luckless runs this campaign, it was great to see her break her maiden status with such dominance.
Booker Tee brought up a race to race double for the team, with Harry Coffey on board. Booker Tee continues our great association with the Price Bloodstock team and it was good to get the win on the board with the lightly raced 4yo. Although he is a 4yo, Booker Tee is still very green at the racing caper, he took the entire straight to reel the leader in just by wanting to hang in and do things wrong. For a horse that seems to appreciate the longer the trips it was a great result to get the maiden win out of the way over 1300m. As he goes up in distance and learns what racing is all about, he looks to be a nice stayer in the making.
