Promising 3yo gelding Sunfish, recorded his maiden victory at his second start at Donald on Saturday.
It was great to see Sunfish break his maiden after an encouraging debut run at Geelong a fortnight earlier.

Sunfish didn’t have the easiest runs in transit, he was wide for the trip. Coming into the straight he was a long way off the leader which had a good break on the rest of the field. Brad Rawiller got Sunfish to the outside so he didn’t have an impeded run to the post. Sunfish was winding up and his last 100m was electric to run over the top and win by half a length.

As Sunfish steps up in trip, he looks as though he will get better. A horse who is still learning his trade there is plenty of upside going forward.

Congratulations to the winning connections.
