Count Zero started his steeple-chasing career in fine style with a win at Terang on Friday.
The opening jumps meeting of the season, it was great to have a couple of runners contest the jumping races on the day.
Making the switch from hurdling last season to the bigger fences this year was no problem for the 8yo gelding. His win on Friday had a lot of merit to it as rider Aaron Kuru dropped his whip 1200m from home. Count Zero needs encouragement from the rider at the end of his races, so to still run to the line and jump as well as he did, it was great signs going forward.

He is a lovely horse to have around the place. The older he has got the less interested in flat racing he has become. He has a new lease of life over the fences and the owners look forward to the season ahead with Count Zero.

Congratulations to the winning connections.
