Sirileo Miss continued her wonderful form with a tenacious five length win in the Group two Sunline Stakes at Moonee Valley on Friday night.
This mare seems to be getting better with age and she is in the best form of her career at the moment.
The question continues to be asked “What has been the key?” and as mentioned on several occasions Ben Melham seems to have worked her quirks out on race day, along with the one or two per-centers are home, the 5yo mare is flying.
Sirileo Miss is as tough as they come, she doesn’t like to be ridden pretty and have the soft run. She calves out sectionals and keeps running. She had to do it at both ends on Friday night and Sirileo Miss galloped her rivals into the ground.
Given her past two victories and the way she has won them, Sirileo Miss certainly deserves her crack at Group 1 glory. The Queen of the Turf 1600m for mares in Sydney is the next step for her.
While she’s in red hot form, it is the right time to throw her in the deep end. The beauty of Sirileo Miss is track conditions won’t matter for her, which makes travelling her rather easy.
Congratulations to the winning connections – they are having the time of their life.
