Count Zero is eyeing off a start in the 2022 Jericho Cup after winning a ballot free race at Warrnambool on Monday. After winning the Jericho Cup in 2020, Count Zero has been mixing racing with trialing over the hurdles. Returning to the track and course of his last win, Count Zero appreciated the step up to 3300m and the challenging course of crossing roads and running through the open paddocks. He was also given a great ride by Will Gordon, he travelled well, seemed to relax beautifully and was able to hold off the challenge from stable mate Vanguard in the run to the post.
With a guaranteed run in this years Jericho Cup, we can now solely aim on ensuring that Count Zero is in top order to defend his crown from 2020. Winning over $275,000 in prize-money Count Zero has given his owners a great ride throughout his career and there looks to be more staying wins in store.
Congratulations to the winning connections.
