Precious Charm added another feature race to her record with a dead-heat victory in the Werribee Cup, sharing honours with Holymanz in the first dead-heat finish in the Cup’s history.
The race was run at a genuine tempo, which seen Precious Charm relax well under Harry Coffey and get into a good rhythm throughout. Precious Charm travelled strongly into the race approaching the turn and looked set for victory with the favourite bottled away closer to her inside. A gap appeared late for Holymanz and he sprinted quickly to make the finish very close before the judge couldn’t separate them on the line.
The win was Precious Charm’s second country cup and her eighth victory from her 21 starts. She seems to be in great form at the moment and if we can keep her in that form, we can add black type to her CV and enhance her value as a broodmare post racing.
Congratulations to the winning connections.
