The ever luckless Power of Song broke through for a well deserved win at Ararat on Thursday.
She has been knocking on the door for victory her past couple of starts and got the win yesterday aided by a great ride from Jarrod Fry. The pattern of the day was to come down the middle of the track and Jarrod executed that to perfection, cutting the turn before angling out to the better going. Power of Song always looked to be travelling well but she didn’t know how to put the race away. Once she hit the front, she waited for the other horses to challenge and it took a lot of riding for her to get the win. Hopefully she can build some confidence off that win and go onto better things.
Almost 12 months to do the day after breaking her maiden, Power Of Song always promised talent but she has struggled to bring that to race day. It was great to see her reward her very patient owners with a win yesterday.
