There was plenty to like about Plenty of Grunt’s win at Donald on Saturday with Will Gordon in the saddle.

Having only his second start, it was great to see the natural improvement Plenty of Grunt made from race debut to start number two. Plenty of Grunt has always shown promise at home but he has been a slow maturing horse who has appreciated time. He has a beautiful action on him, and he handled the softer track conditions at Donald without a worry. Jumping away from the barriers cleaner than his debut run, Plenty of Grunt had a lovely run just off the speed. He was able to track other runners, so he had cover coming into the straight. Plenty of Grunt was strong over the concluding stages going on to win by two lengths. He looks like a horse who will only get better with more racing he does and steps out further in trip.

Congratulations to the winning connections.
