Promising mare Plenty of Ammo secured her second win this preparation with an impressive victory at Ballarat on Thursday.
A mare who seemingly has concurred her fears of the barriers, showed her class on Thursday. Every time she is loaded into the gates, you hold your breath but she handled the occasion with composure.
She jumped well from the wide barrier, and travelled wide throughout. The main aim of the day was to ensure she had another good experience in the gates, the win was a bonus.
Jockey, Jordy Childs always felt as though he was travelling well but was mindful of the wide run the mare had. When he asked her to quicken, she put a gap on the rest of the field very easily.
Without asking her to fully extend, Plenty Of Ammo went on to win by 4.75 lengths.
The future looks bright for the lightly raced daughter of Rebel Raider. If she continues to handle herself in the barriers as she did on Thursday, we can then look forward to targeting some nice races for her.
Congratulations to the winning connections.
