The owners were rewarded for their patience on Tuesday when O’Reilly McLuke returned to the winners stall at Casterton. He has been as honest and consistent as they come but the winners stall was somewhere he hasn’t being able to frequent in the past 12 months.
O’Reilly McLuke had a lovely run in transit as the leaders set a solid tempo up in front. Dean Yendall was able to weave his way off the fence coming to the turn and presented like the winner.
He kicked clear but the old tricks that had seen him relegated to second on so many occasions almost seen him in that position again. O’Reilly McLuke looked as though he was going to cruise to victory but when he got to the front, he thought his job was done, to the urging of Dean Yendall, he got the narrow victory by a neck on the line from the fast closing Prospectus.
Congratulations to the winning connections, many who are loyal supporters of the stable.
