Sunday racing at Ballarat seen McKeever return to the winners stall with Linda Meech aboard. After winning his first start as a 3yo, McKeever looked to have plenty of upside but it took him sometime to get the second win on the board.
After a frustrating start to the preparation, McKeever was kept out of trouble and in the best part of the rack to get a well deserved win to his name.
It was great to see him bounce back after a disappointing run at Warrnambool the start prior. A freshen up between runs, a quiet trial earlier in the week and the drop back to 1000m’s gave the team confidence that he would run a much improved race.
The win was made more enjoyable as McKeever is raced by long term stable clients Bill Whitehead and co.
