The 2021/2022 racing season concluded at Bendigo on Sunday and it was great to end the year with a quinella.

Home-bred geldings Ivory’s Delight and Armstrong Bay provided the quinella in the 1100m maiden in what were our last two runners for the 2021/2022 racing season.
It was a great result for the owner/breeders Gary Bates and Evie Duynhoven who were able to share the celebrations on course with close friends.
They have been patient getting the gelding to the races and their patience was rewarded with a great victory. Squeezing a run in as his final day as a 3yo with the Vobis and Vobis Gold bonuses it was a great win for all involved.

Ivory’s Delight was the less fancied of the two runners. Although after his trial at Casterton earlier in the week, the team were confident he would run a cheeky race. Given a patient ride by Damien Thornton, he was battling to tack onto the end of the field with the fast tempo. When straightening, Damien asked for the effort and Ivory’s Delight knuckled down to the task to finish over the top of his stable mate.

Congratulations to the winning connections.
