Honest 7yo mare, Irish Delight made it two wins from four starts this preparation with a tough win at Geelong on Wednesday.
Given a lovely ride by Dean Yendall, who gets along with the mare, settled Irish Delight behind the leader and always looked to be travelling well. She was clearly headed by the second placed horse but she knuckled down for the fight and got her head down right where it counted on the line. For an older mare she is in career best form and seems to be still enjoying racing. It was great to see her win up in grade with a bit of weight relief. If placed right she should be competitive again in a similar type of race.

Congratulations to the winning connections
