Imported New Zealand galloper Jack Knows Best (pictured) secured his first victory in Australia at Hamilton last Thursday.

It was a big effort by Jack Knows Best carrying 73.5kg with Aaron Kuru in the saddle. The owners have been patient with this galloper who we purchased with aspirations of competing in the country cups. Although the win on Thursday was a long way from the featured country cup circuit it was an enjoyable one all the same for his ownership group. From his past 5 starts Jack has been narrowly defeated on three occasions.

We have been jumping Jack Knows Best to change up his training routine and keep him ticking over between runs, he seems to really enjoying the jumping caper. He will stay all day and a future over the hurdles certainly looks possible going forward.

Navy King brought up a winning double for the team at Hamilton with an all the way victory in the last. Guided by Dean Yendall, they controlled the race up front over the 1200m. Navy King is starting to build a nice record for himself having had the four starts for two wins and a second. Navy King is still learning what his job is and to be winning while learning is only encouraging signs going forward.

Congratulations to the winning connections of Jack Knows Best and Navy King.
