Duchess of Dorset took her record to an impressive four wins from six starts and registered her first Metropolitan win on Ballarat Cup Day Saturday. Linda Meech gave her a perfect ride settling in a lovely trailing position behind the two leaders who were setting a good tempo. On straightening, Meech peeled her into clear air three wide, where she let down impressively in the straight to win by a convincing 2.5 lengths.
She looks to have a very bright future and are hoping she can graduate to Black Type class which would make her a very valuable Broodmare for her owner, Marg Lucas.
