Wilde Racing took a team of runners up to the annual Swan Hill three-day Carnival. It was great to see Dobkins and Allouvre find their way to the winner’s stall.
Dobkins (pictured) was having her first start over the 975m with Linda Meech in the saddle. She was slowly away but that didn’t matter, Dobkins was able to find her feet and relax off the hot tempo.
The leader gave a great sight and looked to have pinched a winning break on the field. Dobkins was motoring late and was putting in the big bounds and thankfully got her head down right on the line.
It was a great result for everyone involved, having her first race start and it being a victory. She was bred by Colin McKenna and family, and we couldn’t have been more pleased to get the result for Janice and co-owners.
Allouvre has made it two wins on the bounce with another gritty victory. She was lumped with the 60kg, and she isn’t overly big, but she toughed it out well to get the win.
Linda Meech gave her a lovely steer, saving all the ground hard on the fence where nobody had been for the day. Allouvre was challenged in the straight, but she fought them off one by one to score by a half-length.
Allouvre is starting to build a nice record now, having had the seven starts for three wins and a third. With the softer tracks about, Allouvre looks set to continue to work through the grades.
Congratulations to our winning connections.
