Bargain buy Glassey Miss brought up her second country cup win after her saluting in the Donald Cup yesterday. Purchased for $18,000 from the Vobis Gold sale in 2018, Glassey Miss has now taken her winnings to a tick over $400k.
Plagued by foot troubles throughout her career, Glassey Miss has had her fair share of soundness issues. A credit to the team at home and the facilities at Wilde Racing, Glassey Miss continues to front up each preparation and get a win on the board for her owners. The Donald Cup was the targeted race for this campaign and there were some question marks about the barrier draw. Race morning saw the field reduced by half with a significant amount of scratchings due to overnight rain. Glassey Miss’s form on heavy tracks hasn’t been flattering but given the small field size, we had a throw at the stumps and thankfully she come out on top. Dean Yendall gave Glassey Miss the perfect ride, he had the favourite boxed in and always looked to be travelling well. In the straight, Dean made a vline for the outside rail looking for the better going and it proved to be the winning move. Glassey Miss went on to win by one length adding the Donald Cup to her list of feature wins.
Congratulations to the winning connections.
