Field Of Lights was able to get a well deserved city win on the board yesterday, making it three wins in a row. He was given a lovely ride by Damien Thornton who stalked the favourite throughout the 3000m staying test. The pair kicked clear at the top of the straight and it was race on after a slow tempo during the early stages. Field Of Lights as he has done in the past, got to the front and didn’t really put the race away but he was able to get his nose down when it counted.
His recent form over the longer staying trips has seen Field Of Lights accumulate many points for the Jericho Cup towards the end of the year. Given his relaxed nature and ability to stay, this race over the marathon trip of 4600m certainly looks a race worth targeting.
