Progressive 4yo Actaeon progressed from benchmark level in the country to winning the BM64 1600m at Sandown on Wednesday.

It was a tough effort by Actaeon who had to do some work from the outside barrier and find the lead. Jordan Childs was able to sum the race up perfectly with the long run down the Sandown back straight. He let Actaeon slide forward after looking like he was going to be posted three wide. With a couple of cheap sectionals, Actaeon gave a good kick around the 300m mark. Nursery Chime gave chase and got a head in front of Actaeon before he showed great fight to kick back and win by a narrow margin.

Congratulations to our winning owners.
