Wilde Racing enjoyed another successful day over the jumps at Casterton on Sunday, with Enchanted Elle (pictured) and Golden Garden delivering two strong and memorable performances for their connections.
Few horses thrive at Casterton quite like Enchanted Elle. Sunday’s victory further cemented her affinity for the unique track, taking her record there to four starts for three wins and a second.
She travelled comfortably throughout; she is so quick over the hurdles she puts a length on her rivals very quickly at each jump. The Casterton layout brings out the very best in her as she can sneak away on the tight bends and the two jumps in the straight, really play into her hands with her superb jumping ability.
Golden Garden added to the day’s success with another bold, front‑running performance over the live hedges. True to his style, he rolled straight to the top, jumped well, and dared his rivals to catch him. They got a lot closer to him this start than they did at Warrnambool, but his staying ability and toughness seen him cross the finishing line first.
His win was particularly special for his connections — many of whom are locals or from the surrounding district. It was also great for rider Dean Parker who partnered both horses to victory. He has become a vital part of the Wilde Racing team, and it was great to see him rewarded for his hard work.
