Britannicus put in a great performance at Stawell last Friday with a terrific win in the 3600m staying test. He was given an absolute peach of a ride by Jarrod Fry who gave Britannicus every chance to stay the 3600m. The horse travelled into the race that strongly, Jarrod had a good look over the shoulder to see how far he was in front, only to put the horse off balance and allow the second placed horse eat into the margin. Thankfully Britannicus was able to pick himself up and fought strongly to the line to win by 0.3 lengths.
Britannicus was brought for a jumping prospect and his owners have being fortunate enough to have some fun with him along the way, now picking up three wins on the flat.
He will head back to the jumps next start to try and get the maiden hurdle win out of the way before setting on a path towards Jericho Cup day.
Congratulations to the large group of owners.
