Britannicus got his redemption winning the Brierly Steeplechase on Tuesday. After being narrowly defeated by stable mate Vanguard in 2022, it was great to see Britannicus get the well deserved feature on his home track.
For the past 12 months, the aim has been to have him peaking for this race and it was a great thrill when he got the job done.

A brave ride from Aaron Kuru turning onto the course proper after the Tozer road double, was the winning move. There wasn’t much room between the jumps wing and rival Flying Agent. Shouldering Flying Agent out of the way, Britannicus shot to the lead. Jumping the last he was a clear leader but the run to the line was long. He was tiring late, Flying Agent and Valac were closing fast but to the roar of the crowd Britannicus had two lengths to spare as he was hailed the winner.

Britannicus continues to give his owners such a great ride, bringing up win number 11 and just shy of $500k in prize-money the ride isn’t over for the connections.
