Hit The Road Jack made the perfect start to his jumping preparation with a strong and dominant victory at Terang on Sunday.
Backing up quickly from his good run in the Terang Cup just seven days earlier, the gelding showed he had taken no harm from the effort. He jumped cleanly throughout, travelled comfortably on the speed, and once he rolled into his rhythm, he always looked the winner. Turning for home, he extended smartly to put the race away.
All roads now lead to the local May Racing Carnival, where he’ll aim to keep his momentum going on home turf. It’s still undecided whether we’ll stick with the hurdles or move to the steeples, but you’d expect him to be competitive in whichever race he enters, especially if we get soft track conditions.
Congratulations to the wining connections, an exciting start to his jumping preparation.
