Wilde Racing enjoyed a great day at Swan Hill on Sunday, coming away with a winning double thanks to tough performances from Star Testymony and Manhattan Mabs.
Kicking off the program in style, Star Testymony proved too strong in the 2400m BM56 Handicap. Showing his staying power, the gelding travelled smoothly throughout before drawing clear late to secure a well-deserved victory. He put the doubters to bed given he had the 63kg and coming off a disappointing run the start prior.
With the addition of blinkers and a tongue tie, it was great to see Star Testymony bounce back to form with a dominate win.
Later in the day, lightly raced mare Manhattan Mabs (pictured) broke her maiden status with a last stride victory over the 1600m.
Taking advantage of a good run in transit, she knuckled down strongly in the straight to score with Dean Yendall in the saddle. The breakthrough win was a pleasing step forward for the lightly raced mare who seems to be still learning her trade. Manhattan Mabs looked to have victory all sealed up but her greenness late, saw her win by the narrowest of margins. She looks to have plenty of upside as we progress through the grades with her.
Congratulations to our winning connections.
