The stable was excited to celebrate a breakthrough victory for Mere Morsel at Dunkeld on Saturday. A bit of a stable favourite, it was great to see Mere Morsel back in the winner’s stall. He travelled strong throughout the race with Will Gordon in the saddle. Mere Morsel sustains a high cruising speed which gets the other horses out of their comfort zone. He kicked off the bend and held a margin of a length to win the race.

This result is especially meaningful for his owners, who have been patient in waiting for Mere Morsel to return to top form. His previous run at Ballarat, where he finished a close second, suggested he was nearing a breakthrough. Now a bit older and wiser, Mere Morsel takes a couple of runs to hit peak fitness, but his recent performances indicate that he is back to his previous preparations form. If Mere Morsel can maintain his current form, there’s every reason to believe another win is just around the corner.

Congratulations to the winning connections.
