Persian Spirit produced a dominant display at Flemington on Tuesday, storming home to win the Channel 9 Trophy (1400 m) under a perfect ride from Harry Coffey.
The five-year-old gelding by Cable Bay (IRE) out of Salamati (GER) settled rearward before unleashing a powerful sprint to score by 4¼ lengths, stopping the clock at 1:23.32.
Persian Spirit has been so consistent and keeps improving. There is a better race for Persian Spirit, whether that is Group three or Group one, we aren’t too sure but there is a good win ahead for him.
Purchased for just $6,000, Persian Spirit continues to reward his Grand Syndicates – Salamati owners with every run. Tuesday’s victory marks his second Flemington success and highlights his potential to step up in class as the summer carnival approaches.
A thrilling win for all involved – Congratulations to the winning connections.
