Our first winner for the day was promising filly Arizona Luck (pictured), who stormed home in the Phillips Farm Machinery Maiden Plate over 1200m with Declan Bates in the saddle.
She had a run as a 2yo over the May Carnival to set her up for her early 3yo career. It was great to see her kick off this campaign in winning style as we look to bigger and better races with her.
Arizona Luck never looked like winning the race until the final 50m where she really attacked the winning post. She is a filly that will get out over further and only get better with the more racing she does.

Blazing Guru was our second winner for the day, and it was a pleasant surprise. She is a mare that has her share of niggles, but the team went to work behind the scenes to ensure she was able to produce her best on Monday. After a disappointing run first up, a change in feed, back to the trials and a firmer surface all married up for a much-improved run. We thought the 1600m might have been too short for her as she is bred to get out over ground. A lovely run in the race and able to out stay her rivals, it was great to see everyone’s hard work and the owners patience rewarded.

Congratulations to both groups of winning connections.
