All roads lead to Warrnambool on New Years Eve for the annual twilight meeting. There was a big crowd, and it was great to round out the year with a double on our home track.
Wichitall (pictured) was a deserving winner in race 5 on the program. He had been running consistently well and going down marginally at his previous starts. He was rated beautifully out in front by Lester Grace. When the challengers came, Wichitall was tough and scored a narrow victory. He is deep into his preparation, almost coming up 12 months in work but he continues to thrive. After his victory on Tuesday, he has now earned over $100k for his connections.
Precious Charm continued her liking for her home track bringing up her third victory from as a many starts in the last race. She was impressive winning first up from a spell and looks to be in for a good preparation.
A small ownership group but majority of them were on course to enjoy the win. They can now look forward to running in the Port Fairy Cup back at her home track in ten days’ time.
