El James was as tough as they come winning on Sunday at Warrnambool. He had an army of owners there to welcome him and Johnny Allen back to scale after the tenacious victory.
He did it tough, leading all the way in a tough breeze with 61kg’s on his back. When challenged, El James rallied hard and wasn’t going to be beaten. He held on to score by the smallest of margins.
For his first racing prepartion El James had the four starts for second on debut before going on to wins his next three starts. He was a tired horse after his tough win on Sunday and has now been sent to the spelling for a well earned break. While still developing his racing manners, we are hopeful a spell will see the 4yo son of Wrote return even better next campaign.
Congratulations to the large group of winning connections – it is always great to get a win on your home track particularly on such a special occasion being Jericho Cup Day.
