El James broke his maiden status at start number two on Thursday at Warrnambool. He is a 4yo gelding that we bred ourselves with Dallas Ludeman out of the mare White Nymph.
Symon and Dallas gave the son of Wrote plenty of time to mature and learn his craft, before syndicating El James out to a group of clients who didn’t have to wait long for a return.
On debut he ran an encouraging second and fronted up 10 days later to get a win to his name. A stayer with what looks to be untapped ability and plenty to learn, it won’t be the last time we see El James in the winners stall.

It is very satisfying to get a win from a horse that you have bred and developed from the beginning. Although it is a long haul from foaling to the racetrack, the buzz of winning with a home-bred is something else.

Congratulations to the winning connections.
