Promising galloper Spare Coin was victorious in the Coleraine Cup on Friday. With a gap between runs, it was good to see Spare Coin back in the winners stall.
He has always promised to win a better class of race than what he was competing in. It was great to get the win in the Coleraine Cup. Particularly for one of the connections who is a Coleraine local.
At only his 12th start he brought up win number 5 and has collected over $130k in prize-money for his connections. A lightly raced gelding, Spare Coin looks to have it all in front of him as all the riders report how green and raw he is at the caper.
With one country cup to his name and the country cup circuit ramping up over the spring and summer months, it looks likely the team will aim to add another cup to the mantelpiece with Spare Coin.
