For his $6000 price tag as yearling, Persian Spirit hasn’t missed a top three podium finish in his career to date, earning his connections $80,000 plus in prize-money. After a minor throat operation halted his last preparation, Persian Spirit returned to race-day in great order. From barrier one, Craig Williams gave him a sweet run behind the leaders and out of the wind. You always need a little bit of luck when drawing barrier one but the leader rolled off and Craig wasted no time in taking the gap. Persian Spirit dashed to the lead and never looked like getting run down as he raced away to win by almost three lengths.
It was great to see a large group of his connections out at the races on Fathers Day to enjoy the victory.
