Queen Zyrah broke her maiden status at Casterton on Sunday. She has always shown promise in her gallops and trials but has battled to replicate that work on race day.
She was given a lovely ride by Will Gordon just off the speed and when produced in the straight she knuckled down and found the line strongly.
She wasn’t a cheap filly, purchased from the Inglis Easter Sales in 2019 for $95,000 but with the maiden out of the way we are sure she can continue on and tackle some better races.
