Under The Bridge was successful at Hamilton on Tuesday thanks to a great ride by stable jumps jockey Ronan Short.
It had been a long wait for that elusive win but it was a great thrill to see Under The Bridge in the winners circle. He is a gelding that has had his soundness issues and it is a big credit to all the team at home and those behind the scenes to have Under The Bridge back at the races and performing well.
The race was run to suit, it was a strong tempo up front and Under The Bridge relaxed well for Ronan. He always looked to be travelling well and his superior staying ability showed late and he was strong to the line. We always thought that he would be competitive in stronger, staying class races and hopefully this is a step in the right direction.
