Symon’s Passion for horses began in his teenage years where he took it upon himself to develop a complete understanding of horses. At completion of schooling Symon sought to gain experience and pursued work alongside some of the world’s top trainers.
Symon left Australian shores in 1998 to offer his services in England with Lord William Huntingdon and Nicky Henderson. After a successful two year stint Symon returned to Australia where he gained further experience with Lindsay Park under the guidance of Peter Hayes and Tony McEvoy.
Again, after another two year stint at Lindsay Park Symon left Australia this time head for America where he worked with Laura De Seroux.
Symon returned to Australia in 2003 working with Wilde Racing, progressing from a stable hand to holding a joint trainers licence in 2008 with his father Bill. The partnership was a great success seeing the duo claim a position in the top 20 Victorian training ranks for five consecutive years.
At the end of the 2013/14 season Bill Wilde decided it was time to hand the reins to Symon and allow him to be recognized for his hard work and success. Bill is still involved with the stable in a foreman’s role.
